Music by the Slice 2010

Music by the Slice 2010 runs Thursday through Saturday, March 18th-20th, noon to 7:30 ish daily.

Make sure you stream our Playlist of MXTS performers so you can hear these guys for yourself.  (Some of the names you may not recognize below are brand new but are going to blow up this year so don’t miss out!)  Ok, here goes the lineup:

Thursday, March 18:

Friday, March 19:

Lou Barlow, Radar Brothers, Wye Oak, The Love Language, and Let’s Wrestle performances courtesy of the legendary Merge Records.  How about that?

Saturday, March 20:

Admiral Radley, The Henry Clay People and The Happy Hollows live performances are courtesy of Los Angeles based recording studio,  The Ship.  All three bands will be filmed and recorded live at Home Slice Pizza as part of The Ship Sessions, an online audio/video series developed by Ship owner/Earlimart front man Aaron Espinoza.   For more info on The Ship and the sessions go to www.theshipstudio.com and www.earlimartmusic.com

Thanks to our partners at the amazing The Marfa Recording Company for providing sound engineering and to CLINK for helping us with event management.

And finally thanks to WOXY for being so awesome.  Look for live performances from this years MXTS to stream on WOXY in the future!  We can’t wait.  (In case you didn’t know, WOXY is independent Internet radio focused on the future of Indie, Alternative and Modern Rock, streaming to a worldwide audience from their headquarters in Austin, Texas, USA.)

Last but not least, our bar is staffed completely with volunteers from the folks over at Urban Roots and all the tips they earn go to raise money for their cause. Urban Roots is a community farm that works to provide hunger relief in the Austin area.

We stumbled onto your stage late in the day on Saturday. What a great deal! Perfect for those of us wanting to see good new music but aren’t doing the wristband thing. Our 9 year old had a blast, too. We are now fans of The Henry Clay People.

I’m impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s equally educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The problem is something which too few folks are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I found this in my hunt for something concerning this.
