MXTS 2010 Preview: Jukebox the Ghost

Posted in Music and other Arts by shaunaslice on February 16, 2010

Well, color me smitten. Jukebox the Ghost, who Home Slice has confirmed for it’s MXTS party next month, is catchy as all get out, poppy to distraction. Honestly, i’ve been beebopping in my seat from the second i plugged in to their Myspace page. A three piece piano-pop band based out of Philadelphia, members Ben Thornewill, Tommy Siegel, and Jesse Kristin all met while attending George Washington University, and are known for their live shows, where people tend to “go crazy.” So let’s just address the elephant in the room, You will most likely draw parallels to Ben Folds when you hear these guys, and rightly so. They toured with him in 2009, but make no mistake, Jukebox the Ghost have their own relevant, upbeat sound, and a unique songwriting style. They released an album, Let Live and Let Ghosts in 2008, and aim to release another one this year. I’m thinking these three guys make a lot of noise on stage, and put on a hell of a show. We love a good dance party here at Home Slice, so to paraphrase, if the Home Slice Patio is a rocking, put on your party socks and come get down!
