MXTS 2011 Preview: Lord Huron

Posted in Music and other Arts by Tara Bouley on February 11, 2011

I think it best to explain the sound of Lord Huron with a math eqution. No, with a recipe.

3 C tropicalia
2 C pure joy
1/2 C Animal Collective, eccentricity  reserved
3 t melted reverb
2 tsp essence of whatever the midwest does to people
1/4 tsp hammock

Combine all ingredients, cover with melted reverb making sure to coat each surface. The casual listener might want to add some Fleet Fox tounge or thong sandal, but I like the recipe as is.

Kidding aside, Lord Huron put out 2 magical EPs in 2010, were one of THE breakout acts of CMJ last Fall and will be touring with another Home Slice fav (and veteran of MXTS), Rural Alberta Advantage in April.  We can’t wait to see what they do live on our patio!

Lord Huron will be performing at Music by the Slice Friday, March 18th at 2:55 PM. Full line up coming soon!
