MXTS 2011 Preview: Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin

Posted in Music and other Arts by Tara Bouley on March 7, 2011

As the weather warms and friends gather for bike rides and picnics, I cannot think of a better soundtrack to the reawakening of spring than the music of Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. A quartet out of Springfield, Missouri, SSLYBY has been turning out pop gems since the release of their first full length album Broom in 2005.

These guys craft pop songs in the tradition of Big Star, Elf Power, and Sloan with crisp production, incredible hooks and accessible lyrics.  Since the release of Broom, SSLYBY have release two more full length records, Pershing in 2008 and Let it Sway in 2010, which was released by Polyvinyl and produced by Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie.

SSLYBY just wrapped a tour with Tokyo Police Club and are making their way to our fair city in time to rock the patio at Music by the Slice on Friday, March 18 at 4:40.
